HKGCC Launches ‘Pitch Perfect Programme’

The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) today launched its “Pitch Perfect Programme” to enhance understanding between businesses and Hong Kong’s youth.

The project will reinforce the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to serve as a bridge between businesses and youths, as well as help prepare them to get their careers off to a flying start.

“Going from school to work is a major step, and Pitch Perfect is designed to help Hong Kong’s students prepare for the transition. The Programme leverages the Chamber’s diverse business network to give participants a better understanding of how business works and help them develop the skills needed to land a fulfilling job,” said Peter Wong, HKGCC Chairman, adding “Hong Kong is one of the world’s most dynamic business hubs, and I would like to thank our Chamber members for helping prepare the next generation to build on the territory’s legacy of success.”

The programme, initiated by the Chamber’s Young Executives Club (YEC) and supported by the Home Affairs Bureau of HKSARG, aligns with the Chamber’s long-standing mission to nurture and groom future talent. The programme will be steered by YEC Co-Chairman Eric Fok and Vice Chairman Olivia Kung.

“The programme will provide students with essential skills as they prepare to embark on their career,” said YEC Co-Chairman Eric Fok. “In addition to providing training courses, company visits and mentorships, they will also have the chance to practice pitching for a job in front of senior business executives who are supporting the programme.”

A total of seven companies have expressed support, namely, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, Chevalier International Holdings Ltd, Lan Kwai Fong Holdings Ltd, Megasoft Ltd, MTR Corporation Ltd, NEC Hong Kong Ltd and Pan Asian Mortgage Co Ltd, as well as trainers and mentors are backing the programme, which will run in four stages over five months.

The programme is open to all Year 2-4 undergraduate students of local universities. Details on how to register, programme rundown and prizes, can be found on the official website www.chamber.org.hk/yecppp21.
