‘Hong Kong We Can Do It! Lucky Draw’ Offers Over $30 Million in Prizes to Promote Vaccination

Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) announced today more details of the seven rounds of lucky draws that it will hold between July and September, offering over $30 million worth of prizes, to support the ongoing vaccination drive and enable the economy to recover faster.

Members of the public will be able to register for the “Hong Kong We Can Do It! Lucky Draw” at www.hkgccluckydraw.com starting 2 July for the first round of draws on 22 July. The lucky draw is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has received two COVID-19 vaccinations in Hong Kong and holds a valid HKID card.

“We encourage everyone to get vaccinated against Covid-19, both for their own safety and for the safety of their families and the extended community. The more people that get vaccinated, the faster we can tame this virus and get our economy back on track. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Let us work together to get back to normal,” said HKGCC Chairman Peter Wong.

A vast range of prizes totalling over $30 million in value have been sponsored by HKGCC member companies. These include three Mercedes Benz C-Class cars, hundreds of shopping vouchers valued at $10,000 each, dining vouchers valued at $5,000 each, as well as staycations   from Jardine Matheson Group, 500 MTR Annual Passes worth an estimated $20,000 each, as well as 500 shopping vouchers valued at $10,000 each from Swire Properties. Other prizes include hotel stays in Hong Kong and overseas, Cathay Pacific business class air tickets, as well as thousands of other shopping, dining and cinema coupons and other prizes.

“Thank you to all members who have generously donated. We expect more prizes to be added to further encourage people to get vaccinated,” said Wong.

Registration to enter the lucky draws will open on 2 July, and entrants should enter their full HKID card number and Hong Kong mobile number, and ensure they have had two COVID-19 shots at the time that they register. The seven rounds of draws will take place on: 22 July, 5 August, 19 August, 2 September, 16 September, 23 September and 30 September. Each eligible person can submit one entry only into the lucky draw. Those who do not win in any of the first six rounds will automatically be re-entered into subsequent round(s), up to the final round on 30 September.

Entries will be randomly drawn by a specialist computer system and winners will be required to produce their original HKID card and proof of their two vaccinations in Hong Kong before claiming their prize. An independent auditor PwC HK will be performing procedural checks on the key processes and systems controls relating to the lucky draw.

Full details on how to register, list of prizes, and Terms and Conditions, will be announced on the official website www.hkgccluckydraw.com once all prizes have been confirmed.

Potential entrants are advised to follow medical recommendations and advice before getting vaccinated. More details on this and booking procedures can be found on the Government’s website at www.covidvaccine.gov.hk.
